A neighborhood-rooted, all-volunteer community for the Nepali diaspora in New York City.
Nepali Youth Society is a 501(c)(3)-registered nonprofit founded in 2018 by a group of friends in Jackson Heights, Queens. What began as monthly potlucks has grown into a network of more than a thousand members — students, early-career professionals, artists, parents, and a few grandparents along for the ride.
We organize gatherings, mentorship circles, and service projects across the five boroughs. We're independent of political parties and any single religious institution, and our programs are open to anyone who feels a tie to Nepal — by birth, by family, or by chosen kinship.

Every event should feel like someone saved you a seat. We invest in the small things — name tags, shared meals, introductions made on purpose.
Our finances, leadership transitions, and decisions are documented and shared with members. Trust is built in public.
We choose depth over reach. We'd rather run a great Saturday in Queens than a flashy event nobody remembers.
Volunteers serving two-year terms, elected by members each spring.
