We're a volunteer-run community building friendships, mentorship, and cultural belonging for young Nepalis across the five boroughs and beyond.
Everything we organize falls into one of three buckets — and we keep our scope honest so we can actually deliver.
Monthly gatherings, festival nights, and casual hangs that make New York feel a little smaller and a lot warmer.
Mentor matching, career panels, and skill workshops led by Nepali professionals across tech, health, finance, and the arts.
Volunteer days with local food pantries, parks, and partner nonprofits — and direct relief drives when Nepal needs us.
RSVPs are free and open to anyone who identifies with the Nepali diaspora — bring a friend.
NYS started in 2018 as a group chat of seven friends in Jackson Heights who missed the easy weekends back home. Today we're a registered nonprofit with chapters meeting in Queens, Brooklyn, and online — but the spirit is the same: show up for each other.
We're proudly independent of political parties and unaffiliated with any single temple, school, or business. Every dollar we raise goes back into programs and the people who run them.
